This is a rather unique cookbook. My Advanced Review Copy (ARC) did not format the recipes as we normally see recipes formatted. I guess the stories were more important in the book.

Basically the book features simple recipe a guy can whip up for those occasions special or otherwise. Yes, most times that bring joy to a man are included with a recipe for that occasion. But "Thanksgiving with the ex-wife"? I'll pass, thank you.

Denny Stanz shows men how to whip up simple recipes and prepare meals for themselves and others in the kitchen. These "significant others" include wives, mothers, girlfriends, friends, et cetera. Special events in a man's life, like the Super Bowl, also need food and the book addresses those occasions.

The author dishes up advice on relationships from a man's perspective with the recipes. There is even bits of parental advice.

Although as a man who enjoys cooking, I must ask: Is this a stereotype of men that they cannot cook more elaborate meals?
