Talk about a book being an eye-opener!

First, let me state I do not run marathons or half-marathons. My age is at the half-century mark. There are some things my body rebels against.

I knew people training for various athletic endeavors had special diets. Some employ some shake-type thing with wheat germ and a raw egg. Some follow fad diets.

This book described the various facets of a (half-)marathoner's training and competition. The book breaks down the nutrition needed for each phase, whether in training, before a race, during a race, or following a race. Beyond food, the book also addresses sleep and other issues!

If you aim to be a serious marathoner or half-marathoner, this book simply and explicitly gives direction and focus as far as dietary issues for training and competing.
